Embrace Yourself

Many people have insecurity issues. Maybe you feel obese or maybe you feel ugly? Everyone you see online is the perfect size, the perfect tone, they’re flawless. Right? If only you had her hair, or if only you had his muscles. If you didn’t have to wear glasses or if you didn’t have those pimples, life would be a lot easier. Right? Those are just some of the issue a person can go through on a daily basis. They’ll beat themselves up because they don’t look like that girls who was damned there airbrushed on the magazine or that girl who photo shopped her picture or maybe it’s that guy who filtered his photo so he wouldn’t have any abnormalities in his it. I went through my insecure stage, in fact I may still be going through it. I always hated my lips- until someone, who is now a good friend of mine said ‘I love your lips, they’re so nice and full.” I’m like “what my lips, I hate them!” She pretty much forced me to wear lipstick and made me embrace the beauty of my lips. Another thing I was ashamed of was my natural hair. Its would always brake off and I’d always wear braids or extensions. Well, everyone kept telling me how amazing I’d look with my natural hair. So after about five years of hearing that. I cut my hair (that was in July) and I love it! It’s growing back and it’s healthy. I’ve learned to love everything about myself, some of the things were through the help of others, but the others was just me realizing who I am and embracing myself.  A funny thing about my situation is a guy who use to always have something to say about in High School in-boxed me on FB, as if he’d really get some play.

I just really want everyone to know you’re not alone, we’ve all been there, we all have our insecurity issues and you have to ignore the negativity and focus on you. Oh and have anyone told you lately how beautiful and amazing you are? If you let me be the first one. And remember just because someone says they ‘woke up like that’ doesn’t mean they really did and doesn’t mean they don’t have insecurities of their own.

Love and Sex

Did Janet Jackson Have A Baby?

Before I even begin, I’m first going to make sure you all know the following is just my opinion and may or may not be true.

Janet Jackson went AWOL for over year and when we finally see her again, one (or maybe just me) can only assume it’s baby fat. Now I know Ms. Jackson has always had weight issues which caused her to go into a depression, on more than one occasion. I think this is something different, she has always been private with it comes to her personal life, which is why she was married a few times and ‘we’ the public, was completely oblivious. She tell what she wants, when she wants! She is 48-years old and fabulous and it’s not impossible.

So I’m concluding that there is indeed a baby Janet Jackson.

Mommy’s Little Baby

Just days after giving birth to Baby Titan, Kelly Rowland wrote and dedicated to her son. She tells him that before he even existed, he’s what she’d always dreamed of.

I’ve waited all my life
All my life, to see you
I’ve been dreaming about you
I wonder what you’d be like
Now I’m speechless, can’t believe it

The saying ‘a woman first love is her child’ is obviously and Ms. Rowland proves it to us on this track. Check it out

Verbal Sexual Harassment

Sexual Harassment comes in forms, a popular one, which to often goes unnoticed even by the victim is Verbal Sexual Harassment. Just a little reminder:

Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination that violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Title VII applies to employers with 15 or more employees, including state and local governments. It also applies to employment agencies and to labor organizations, as well as to the federal government.

Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitute sexual harassment when this conduct explicitly or implicitly affects an individual’s employment, unreasonably interferes with an individual’s work performance, or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment.

Most women and men for matter never realize when they’re being verbally harassed. The following video shows what a average day can be like for woman walking the streets in New York City.

This woman was harassed over one hundred times during a 10 hour stroll around the city.  The thing about this is she bluntly ignored the gentlemen approaching her, so I’m not sure if this can be considered harassment.  This is a very informative video, but I think it could have portrayed in different way.

Nineties Remakes ?

Remember that time Brandy and Monica vocally fought over Mekhi Phifer?  That was sixteen years ago when ‘The Boy Is Mine” first premiered. Or when Whitney Houston said “Its Not Alright, But Its Okay ?”  Both songs were instant hits and many young girls all the world mimicked these women.

It has been twenty years since both of those songs came out and  Rodney ‘Darkchid’  Jerkins believes remaking these songs will be the best reunion.

Next year is my 20-year anniversary and I’m doing a very special project. Some originals as well as reimagined hits. So for example, I’ll do the ‘The Boy Is Mine’ with Ariana and Jessie J. Sam is doing ‘It’s Not Right It’s Okay’ by Whitney Houston, which Sam told me was the song that made him want to sing. When I asked him if he’d be a part of this project he was like, “No one else can do that song but me!” Sam’s the truth. He has a great heart and he’s genuine. His music speaks for who he is. This is a project I’m really looking forward to.

Now this is a great idea he has come  up with, but I can’t wait to see if Ariana and Jessie can live up to the Duo, this is not to say they aren’t good artist, but when you do a remake it has to be amazing! Sam Smith is one of the best newer and younger singers to date, so I’m sure he’ll do Whitney’s song justice.
