Empire has fans raving, especially after Cookie gave Lucious some ‘cookie’ last week and now he’s dissing her this week. Tonight a lot was unleashed on Fox! Jamal came out (good for him) and Cookie and Hakeem are finally seeing eye to eye! I was ready to jump up and down with excitement after that- until I witnessed Andre trying to commit suicide after being rejected by his father. That broke my heart and made me realize he may not be vindictive, but sicker than anyone knows.
Aside from the Lyons, it’s obvious Annika is up to something, but what? Is she working for the enemy? We’ll all find out next week. I don’t know what to expect, but I know it’s too early for Lucious to die and too early for Cookie and Lucious to get back together.
Tuesday night, 19-year old Mirjana Puhar was found dead in a triple homicide. Puhar was a contestant on Tyra Banks’s hit show ‘Americas Next Top Model’ for cycle 21. Puhar was one of the best on the show, but she eliminated in episode 10 after her relationship with Denzel Wells ( male contestant) hit the rocks.
Puhar was at her boyfriends, 23-year old Johnathon Alvarado house in Charlotte, NC when shots were. Puhar, Alvarado and third friend, 21-year old Jusmar Gonzaja were all found dead.
Since then, police have arrested 19-year-old Emmanuel Jesus Rangel and charged him with 3 counts of 1st degree murder.
We were all in shock when Giuliana Rancic made a very judgmental and stereotypical statement regarding 18-year old Zendaya Coleman dreadlocks, which she chose to rock at the 2015 Oscars. Rancic, with a smile and laugh stated: “I feel like she smells like patchouli oil and weed.” This was of course hilarious to Rancic and her co-host, but to those people who wear dreads in their head, Zendaya included, it was quite the contrary.
Zendaya’s response was perfect, she didn’t state names nor did she throw shade at anyone, but she did get her point out. Zendaya even changed her cover photo on twitter to a collage of several people rocking their dreads. Zendaya has gotten support from many celebrities, including Shonda Rhimes who calls Zendaya her “hero.” Rancic later made an apology which can be seen below, but it’s obvious this apology isn’t sincere and it’s scripted.
Being in a good and healthy relationship was hard enough to maintain in 90s, 80s, 70s and way back when, but since we were introduced to these new elements of technology over the past decade it’s makes it even harder for most men and women to stay committed to one another.
How many people was really shocked when they learned that Bill Clinton had what is now called a ‘side piece’ ‘sideline hoe’ or ‘side chick’? It wasn’t unheard of in those days, but I’m sure many people were surprised and disgusted to say the least. If we learned today that someone of power cheated on their mate, (or someone without power for that matter) we wouldn’t be surprised, not because it’s expected, but because technology and the fact that internet present every cheater with their handbook. They have access to tons of beautiful men and women. They have apps where they can change their numbers and secretly talk or text on their phones. They even have website specifically designed for cheaters and there are even apps that tells you when a hot woman or man is in your area.
If technology has ruined or is ruining your relationship there are things you can do to try to restore what and your mate have left, such as having a ‘no lock policy’ neither of you will have a lock code on any your devices. This doesn’t mean you can pick his/her phone up and go through it, but your spouse will feel so much better knowing you aren’t hiding anything behind that 4 or 5 digit code. You’d be surprised how much drama within your relationship will decrease if your phone is unlocked.
When it comes to FB, IG, twitter or any of these other social networks don’t add people you don’t know (keep in mind how many relationships begin this way). If you are chatting with an old high school friend on FB, tell your man or woman. Honesty is always the best policy.
Avoid chat room apps and the apps that’s secretly hooking you up with someone. You don’t have to let technology destroy your relationship. You can prevent it and it can all be so simple.
