Companies & Manipulations #MissLasDailyDose

People get tired of us talking racism, but I say keep it going and make you’re voice heard. This time I am using myself as an example for #MissLasDailyDose.

I graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelors of Arts in 2013. I’ve applied for job after job after job and I haven’t had any luck. What I just recently realized is how companies manipulate the system. I apply for jobs that I know I’m above qualified for, I have the experience, the knowledge, the talent and the degree. Most employees just deny me without question, but others will manipulate the system and make it seem like they’re doing me a favor and say “we don’t think this position fit well for you, but maybe we will interview for…”  The only requires a HS diploma and pays $5 less than the position I want. This is their way of keeping Blacks, educated or not at dead end jobs. If ‘they’ don’t want us to succeed and excel, they will do everything in their power to make sure we don’t. Now, in most cases, we don’t have any other choice, but to accept the job and they know that. But if you have choice, don’t  choose them, choose something that shows your potential and your worth. Don’t settle and don’t let them take advantage of you. We have to work together and help lift and empower each other.
